We were sitting on the outdoor covered lanai, and Fae started barking like the good guard dog she is... it was a snake that had snuck into the porch and was coiled up and threatening, shaking it's tail pretty wildly.
Toni ran for safety, shouting "kill it!"
It was pretty dark, so seeing it coiled up and poised to strike, I got the air rifle and gave the snake the big sleep.
Turns out it was a very angry, but non-venomous, corn snake. If I had known, I would have just caught it and released it.
Anyways, Toni was happy to have it gone, and Fae gets a gold star for the good dog award.
